Elsa Pataky: How to turn 48 and still look like you’re a decade younger

July 21, 2024

Elsa Pataky is celebrating: the Spanish actress turns 48 today surrounded by her family and friends after a getaway to our country, where she has been in a relaxed environment, in the countryside and without giving up her daily training. Although this is not enough to define the lifestyle of the Madrid native , it does perfectly reflect the adventurous and family spirit that characterizes her, since seeing her enjoy activities on vacation such as surfing with Chris Hemsworth and her children on sand dunes or imitating the jumps of kangaroos in Australia, is very common.

Her privileged genetics are combined with her passion for sport, the discovery of intermittent fasting and a natural and fresh style with which she manages to make 40 (almost 50) the new 30. Discover some of the beauty, fitness and nutrition keys with which the star successfully defies the passage of time.

Intermittent fasting: the ‘non’ fad diet
Elsa and her husband were among the first to talk about this diet plan, which is based on combining periods of fasting with periods of eating throughout the day . In fact, it was Hemsworth who introduced his wife to the method and they both follow the 16:8 system , in which the fasting window is maintained for 16 hours and meals are accumulated in the remaining time. Although one of the advantages of this diet is that it does not restrict food, Sara Rueda, a nutritionist at Blua de Sanitas, warned us about the fine print: “One of the benefits of fasting is to let the body ‘rest’ from the ‘work’ it does day after day. If during the breakfast window we introduce foods that are not healthy such as soft drinks, sweets, ultra-processed foods… the benefits of fasting will be of no use , since we will be providing the body with substances that are not good for health.”
