There are those who travel following film routes , some do it in search of adventures or deserted beaches… and there are (we exist) another kind of people who plan our holidays and getaways around the summer concert and festival agenda. On that calendar, there is a week that has been marked in red for months: from July 10 to 13, one of the most anticipated events in Madrid, Mad Cool, returns. The Iberdrola Music venue is hosting this festival for the second consecutive year, which, in this edition – its eighth – will bring the best of the international pop and rock scene to the capital thanks to highly anticipated performances such as Dua Lipa’s only one in Spain or the return of The Killers , who in 2024 celebrate 20 years of their legendary album Hot Fuss.
The most anticipated concerts of Mad Cool 2024
That’s right: time flies so fast that, last June, it was two decades since we’ve been dancing to Mr. Brightside or Somebody Told Me, two of the most iconic songs from the album with which the American band made its debut and conquered the indie rock charts around the world. When the festival’s organisers announced in February that The Killers – who already performed at Mad Cool 2022 – would be part of its 2024 line-up (they play on Saturday the 13th), fans from all over the country – and of all ages, that’s what comes with having such a long track record – rushed to get their tickets. But Dua Lipa ‘s fans were even quicker , as the London artist had sold out the tickets for the first four announced dates of her Radical Optimism tour, and her only concert in Spain would be this Wednesday the 10th at MadCool.
