I’ve been a blonde for most of my life (albeit for a few quick stints when I was simply not myself) and I won’t lie to you…it’s super high-maintenance. Besides the constant root touch-ups and weekly deep conditioning masks, if you use the wrong shampoo your beautiful blonde can turn yellow, orange, or dull after a few washes. Which is why I’ve tried basically every purple shampoo for blonde hair that’s ever been released. Like… ever. Why purple shampoo, you ask? Well the purple pigments in purple shampoo help cancel out brassy tones (like yellow or orange) to keep your hair color looking bright and fresh. Oh, and it works on all shades of blonde, from platinum to dark blonde, too.
